Started

Wandering Texan is a new marketing agency with a long history. Makes no sense right?

Our firm is new, but the origin of it started way back in the 70’s. Our founder, Doug Cofer, was a frequent visitor to Red River, New Mexico in his childhood thanks to his parents and grandparents. He developed a love for the Rockies with each trip to northern New Mexico, Colorado, then later in life through adventures in Utah, Arizona, Nevada, Idaho, Wyoming, Washington and British Columbia. (Montana is next on the bucket list!)

Don’t worry beach destinations and businesses, Doug and our team has spent more than a good bit of time on trips up and down the Gulf Coast too.

After earning two marketing degrees and stints as a top-producing salesperson, Doug worked at Angel Fire Resort in Angel Fire, New Mexico. Three years of event & group sales, along with assisting the marketing department, turned into 5 more years handling most of Angel Fire Resort’s marketing production work. Over the next decade, many other destination marketing clients, including Champion Ranch, Snowshoe Mountain, Alterra, Allen CVB, and one of the largest fair & rodeos in Texas, built the experience and strategy that is now Wandering Texan.

Today, Wandering Texan is a specialized growth agency born from our sister company Four Columns Marketing. WT focuses on places and businesses that rely on Texans to have a great season or year. And, we’re much more than just the destination marketing expertise of our founder. We are a proven team of creative, strategic, cutting edge marketers.
